Over the weekend I saw the movie "
Water for Elephants
" starring Reese Witherspoon, Kristof Waltz, and Robert Pattinson. After reading the book, I knew there would be depictions of animal abuse, but I didn't know it would affect me the way it did. It was much more heart-wrenching to see it with my own eyes, rather than to read the words on a page. Both the book and the movie are great and I would recommend them, but it helps to have an idea of what you're going to read or see. If you do see the movie, please take away the knowledge that this type of abuse did and still does exist all over the world -- in circuses, the entertainment business and so much more. The best thing we can do is to boycott any organization that supports this type of treatment, to be aware and to support organizations like
Save the Elephants.
It is our duty to protect all creatures great and small!
